From 155/2, Pakistan lost five wicekts for 16 runs and find themselves in danger of getting bowled for under 200. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were in the middle of a partnership that looked rather threatening for India after two timely strikes from Mohammed Siraj and Hardik Pandya got rid of the Pakistan openers. But once Siraj had the Pakistan captain playing on, ending the 82-run stand, Pakistan's wheels came off. Kuldeep had Saud Shakeel out LBW before bowling Iftikhar Ahmed around his legs. Shortly after Bumrah bowled a peach to dismiss Rizwan and then subsequently removed Shadab Khan in the next over. The collapse continued for Pakistan and they were eventually all out for 191.
Kuldeep Yadav: I have been enjoying the World Cup. I knew where to bowl on this pitch. Difficult wicket to bowl on to be honest, it's on the slower side. They (Pakistan) were not trying too much, so kept it wicket to wicket varying my pace. First seven overs we didn't give too much width, they were not trying to do much. Rizwan didn't sweep me, I was hoping to make him play a bad shot. I have been watching him (Shakeel) sweep a lot or the paddle, so I was trying to keep it wicket to wicket. Luckily I got him. Unbelievable (to play in front of a large crowd). Very excited before this game, the atmosphere was crazy. Just enjoyed bowling.
Siraj got rid of Babar with an absolute banger and that triggered an implosion of monumental proportions. Kuldeep got rid of both Shakeel and Ifthikhar in the same over and Bumrah got Rizwan and Shadab out with dream deliveries. By then, Pakistan were already halfway down a dangerous slippery slope and there was only one way ahead. From being 155-2 at one stage, Pakistan crumbled to 191 all-out in the space of 13 overs. The pitch was slow but by no means did it have demons. It might even play slightly better under lights and India hold all the aces here after the 1st innings. Stick around, we'll be back shortly.
